Therapeutic Potentials of Medicinal Plants in Management of Blood Disorders

Abstract

Disorders associated with blood, including anemia, sickle cell disease, leukemia, thalassemia, and hemophilia, have a huge impact on people’s health across the world. Medicinal plants rich in bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and phenolics, have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory characteristics and can be used for prevention and management of these disorders due to their biological properties. The following medicinal plants, namely Moringa oleifera, Carcia papaya, Curcuma longa, Withania somnifera, and Aloe vera , display a potential treatment effect for different blood disorders.
