Role of Medicinal Plants in Liver Disease Management
Main Article Content
Abstract
Medicinal plants have played a vital role in healthcare systems worldwide since ancient times and continue to be an important source of therapeutic agents.they contain a wide range of bioactive compounds.liver disease or hepatic disease is any disturbance, inflammation or damage to the liver that prevents it from performing its essential functions. liver diseases,.Several medicinal plants, including Silybum marianumL(milk thistle), picrorhizakurroa(kutkiL), Phyllanthus emblica(amlaL), Phyllanthus niryriL, glycyrrhiza glabraL(licorice)etc. Herbal medicine played an important role in Ayurveda, an Indian medical tradition that developed over thousands of years. the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita described numerous medicinal plants and their applications.Traditional Chinese medicine used plants and other natural substances for treating various health conditions.
