The journal DIAS Technology Review respects intellectual property and aims at protecting and promoting original work of its authors. It ensures that authors submit original and authentic research work, entirely free from ‘plagiarism’ of any form.In fact, plagiarism is the unethical practice of copying someone else’s manuscript, research ideas, processes, results, or paraphrasing substantial parts of others’ research without making explicit acknowledgement of the original author or the source. It can be self-plagiarism also, where an author uses enormous part of his/her own previously published work, without making suitable references. He/she may be modifying already published manuscript with few changes or getting the same document published in multiple journals. This is an unscrupulous publishing behavior and is totally unacceptable by the members of the editorial board.

The following types of plagiarism are considered by the journal:

  1. Full Plagiarism: Previously published content without any changes to the text, idea and grammar is considered as full plagiarism. It involves presenting exact text from a source as one’s own.
  2. Partial Plagiarism: If content is a mixture from multiple different sources, where the author has extensively rephrased text, then it is known as partial plagiarism.
  3. Self-Plagiarism: When an author reuses complete or portions of their prepublished research, then it is known as self-plagiarism. Complete self-plagiarism is a case when an author republishes their own previously published work in a new journal.

All manuscripts submitted to our journal for publication are cross-checked for plagiarism. Before forwarding any article for the preliminary review the editor makes plagiarism check through CheckForPlag software. The paper containing the plagiarism is marked on each page of the PDF for author’s ready reference. Only after determination of the extent of plagiarism in submitted manuscripts, the review process gears up.

  1. The manuscript found to be plagiarized up to10% is acceptable to be put in the review process. There is a practice of one preliminary review by internal faculty. After it the article is sent for ‘Blind Peer Review’ by two external experts of respective area/ subject.
  2. The articles falling within the plagiarism range of 10% to 40% are returned back to the author(s) asking them to submit his / her (their) explanation within two weeks. They are also requested to revise & resubmit the manuscript within the stipulated time period. In case the editor does not receive any response from the author(s), the research paper is dropped out of the review process.
  3. The manuscripts plagiarized more than 40% are out-rightly rejected by the editors and are not considered fit for publication in the journal DIAS Technology Review.
  4. Any other recommendation by the Editorial Committee or action deemed fit on case to case basis by the Chief Editor from time to time.
