Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the notice period  trends in Indian IT industry and study its positive and  negative consequences for the employer and employees.  We collected details of various factors related to the three month notice period from multiple angles. Since Indian  IT organisations follow no standard notice period, it is  important to understand what could be an acceptable  notice period for both employees and employer. We  analyse inputs received from 52 respondents and interpret  them to understand the contemporary scenario in the IT  industry. Finally, we suggest possible ways to come up  with a standard notice period across IT industry.
