Abstract
Teacher education is fundamental to building a robust school system, yet B.Ed. trainee teachers in Himachal Pradesh face significant career uncertainty. This study examines the structural factors contributing to this uncertainty, including irregular recruitment cycles, a growing reliance on contractual appointments, and a persistent mismatch between the supply of graduates and available vacancies. By analyzing secondary data and recent scholarly literature, the paper highlights how these delays lead to professional dissatisfaction and psychological stress. The findings suggest a critical need for transparent recruitment policies and better alignment between teacher training institutions and workforce requirements.
