About Us
Army Institute of Education (AIE) was established in 2003 under the aegis of Army Weltare Education Society (AWES) with the aim of providing quality and affordable pre-service teacher education to the dependents of Army personnel. Presently, AWES is managing 246 Pre Primary Schools, 137 Army Public Schools and 12 Army Professional Institutes situated at different locations in India.
The Institute offers two years (semester- based) regular B. Ed. programme and B. Ed. Special Education (Learning Disability) programme with an annual intake of 100 students and 15 students respectively, per year. The Institute is managed by Head Quarter (HQ), Delhi Area. Currently Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), HQ Delhi Area is the Patron AIE and Maj Gen Sumit Mehta, VSM, ChiefofStaff (COS), HQ Delhi Area is the Chairman AIE.
The Institute 1s accredited by 'A' Grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC), 1s ISO 9001: 2015 certified, received recognition under University Grants Commission (UGC) Act of 2 (f) and is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi. AIE has been graded 'A' for last six consecutive years 2015, 2016,2017,2018, 2019 and 2020 during annual inspections by DHE, Government of NCT Delhi and University Joint Assessment Committee (JAC).

OBJECTIVES
- To impart teacher training facilities to the wards/dependents of the Army personnel including the war widows.
- To provide an environment to train teachers that is economically affordable yet qualitatively superior.
- To equip trainee teachers with skill-sets that would enable them to integrate into the existing school system with ease.
- To develop reflective practitioners in the teaching-learning process.
- To create teachers with high levels of sensitivities in the domain of social and emotional intelligence.
- To build on the qualities of National Integration, Tolerance, Justice, Fraternity, Liberty and Equality in the trainee teachers.
- To inculcate spiritual values in teachers for their holistic development.
- To provide opportunities to explore and discover integration of technology into the teaching-learning process.
- To acquire the knowledge, attitude and skills about the needs of differently-abled learners in inclusive and special schools.
